Today is the day that I begin to reset and recharge to a better and improved me! I know we often start over and try our best to stay focused and driven to be healthy and to make the right choices. In our current environment, "quarantine due to the corona virus", we all have the opportunity to set goals, renew our focus and to adapt to a new normal. I chose my health as being a priority. I've started to exercise at least 3 times a week and my intentions are to at least move in some way every day. I am starting on establishing a routine where I do cardio one day and the next is strength training. My exercises or fitness routines of choice are running, bicycling, kick boxing and core strength exercises. My work in progress actions are drinking water at least half my body weight daily and eating plant based foods. I also have been experimenting with "Skinny Fit Greens" and also will start "ActivatedYou" another morning drink to see which one works best for me. I know I need to do a better job in eating the right things and I am committed to doing just that. Visit me on this page weekly minimum to help me to stay motivated, but, also to check out how I' m coming along with my health goals and hopefully I can give you value in documenting what I'm doing and what tools I'm using to achieve my success. For now, so long and I will see you next time!

Weight Loss Tips That Are TRUE....
In my health management journey, I've run across allot of so called ADVICE and TIPS that are guaranteed to help you lose weight...or at least that is what they claim. Yes, it is true there is allot of information out there and most can cause information OVERLOAD! So, in order for me to really take the information as FACT, I had to do my own research and be the one to try it myself first before sharing with the world. Below you will find some of the top 5 Tips that have been proven to be true based on my research and personal testimony of actually trying it for myself: 1. "Drinking Water will help you lose weight.": Yes, it's true. Drinking water before meals can actually boost metabolism by as much as 24-30% over a hour in a half, therefore helping you burn off those calories. If you drink around 17 ounces of water before meals, it will help you to consume fewer calories and you could lose up to 44% more weight. After making this apart of my healthy journey, I have found that I am not as hungry during meal time if I drink at least 20 ounces of water beforehand. 2. "Make Eggs apart of your breakfast": Eggs have a tremendous amount of benefits which includes assisting you with weight loss. Eggs are protein based food, therefore by replacing a grain based breakfast with eggs, you eat fewer calories for approximately 36 hours therefore shedding pounds and burning off more body fat. If for some reason you can't do eggs, try another source of quality proteins for breakfast. 3. "Drink Green Tea": Yes, this is actually a Weight Loss Tip That Is TRUE. Green Tea has small amounts of caffeine, but it is also loaded with antioxidants which are known to work with the caffeine to elevate fat burning. You can try it as a beverage or take the green tea extract supplement. 4. "Cook with Coconut Oil": Did you know that coconut oil is extremely healthy for you? It really is because it contains the good special fats called medium chain triglycerides which are metabolized differently than other fats. The thing that is special about this is it will boost metabolism by 120 calories a day and reduce your appetite so that you eat up to 256 fewer calories per day. Remember, cocounut oil is meant to replace your existing oils not add it on top of whatever cooking fats you currently use. 5. "Use smaller plates": This is where you have to shift your mindset a little bit to understand this concept. Smaller plates actually do work in helping you exercise portion control when eating meals. Studies have shown that most people will automatically eat few calories when using smaller plates. I have proportioned plates and glasses that really do the trick for me. It will make you feel like you are eating a full plate of food when in reality, the plate is smaller therefore your portions are now healthy portions. Please remember when using smaller plates or proportioned plates, you must load it with healthy foods not unhealthy choices. The above are the top 5 Weight Loss Tips That Are TRUE that I wanted to share with you. There are lots more myths and facts out there, but it is important that you do your research which should include trying it out to see what works for you! *My resources come from web md, health.com and fitnessmagazine. com just to name a few. One of the things I committed to when starting this Blog was to be very transparent. I am human and things happen.
So you see hmmm.:-) Okay on the real, I did suffer a little injury in my healthy lifestyle journey. It appears I did something to my neck that has left me in allot of pain. Therefore, my workouts have been not existent for a few days, with the exception of trying to stretch and massage the muscles in my neck. I admit, it left me feeling pretty discouraged. I ended up straying away from my planned meals of Steamed fish or chicken, veggie and fruits. But you know, I decided I can't let things like that get in my way of my long term goal. Though the challenge is technically a short term goal, I did make a commitment. With that being said, I've been resting my neck and doing some things like putting heat and massaging it. But I am not giving up, this is a temporary setback. Whatever my body will allow me to do, I am going to do it. The most important thing is getting up and pressing the restart button and finish until the end. I have health goals that I will accomplish and I am not going to let LIFE get in the way. It's about pushing through the pain to get to the prize. Continue to follow me on this journey, I will be extremely real throughout this challenge and even after the completion of this challenge. I know life can throw you some punches, but its how you deal with it is what makes you rise! Completed Day 1 of my 10 Day Body Slimming Challenge. I did 1.51 miles on treadmill burning 166 calories. My initial weigh in was at 150 (gained 15 pounds from weight loss journey in 2015!). After completion of day one, weighed in at 148.4 (1.6lbs lost). I did not track calories consumed but my food intake consisted of Breakfast: Delgada Coffee, Turkey Burger Omelette, Orange Slices and Water. Lunch: One Cumcumber with Sweet and Spicy Tuna and Lite Italian Dressing, Dinner: Shrimp, Green Bean Sautee & Cabbage. Snacks: Turkey Pepperoni, Grapes and Cashew Nuts.
It certainly is a process to eliminate carbs and sweets from my diet. Especially in preparing Kids and Hubby's meal, and the urge to resist a taste was overwhelming, but I made it through. This journey is definitely about mindset and having a strong belief system. Besides my family of course, my motivation is to be in the best shape of my life by my 50th Birthday, later this year. I am totally committed to this journey and I know I will be my healthiest self really soon and I am excited! |
